GROUP CLASSES

Village West Pilates group classes combine time-tested Pilates methods with modern techniques to deliver real results. Originally developed by Joseph Pilates, it’s stood the test of time and is now backed by modern research that highlights its effectiveness in building core stability, muscular endurance, and neuromuscular control.

Each session strengthens the body through both concentric and eccentric muscle contractions, promoting balanced muscle tone, joint support, improved posture, flexibility, and functional movement. With just 8 reformers in our group studio, our classes strike the perfect balance—not too big, not too small. Think Goldilocks, but with better core strength.

  • Form/Core/Body-Awareness

    Timeless in structure and consistently effective, MAT CORE is a cornerstone of any lasting practice. This essential class guides you through a thoughtfully sequenced mat series, designed to mobilize the spine and build deep core strength. Expect to strengthen and elongate your entire body with purposeful, classical movement.

  • Reset/Connect/Strengthen

    For moms with babies crawling age and under 12 months

    This is your gentle return — to movement, to yourself, and to a community that gets it. In collaboration with a pelvic floor occupational therapist, this mat Pilates class is designed to support your postpartum recovery with safe, effective movement that helps rebuild core strength, improve posture, and care for your pelvic floor. All while your baby stays close (and possibly tries to crawl across your mat).

    Dark under-eye circles? Fussy baby? Still wearing the same leggings from yesterday? Perfect — this is a come-as-you-are space. There’s no pressure to have it all together here.

    After class, hang around for Stay & Play — a relaxed hour where you can connect with other moms, share stories, and remember you’re not alone in this beautiful, chaotic season. Whether you’re here to move, vent, or just be around other grown-ups, we’re here for it.

    (At VWP, we’re proud to share that we are collaborating with a passionate advocate for pre- and postnatal care: Julie Tarlow, MS, OTR/L, PCES, CCTS-I. Julie is a pelvic floor occupational therapist, founder and owner of Core Confidence, and a true champion of new parents. She's also a mom of two—with a third on the way!

    Julie brings both professional expertise and personal experience to her work, and she plays a key role in shaping all of our new parent offerings. She’s will consult closely with our team to ensure that anyone who is prenatal or postpartum receives appropriate modifications in class—keeping every body safe, supported, and empowered through all stages of the journey.

    Our founder’s own experience—having a baby during the pandemic and facing post-birth complications—fuels our commitment to shining a light on the physical, mental, and emotional needs of new parents. Together with Julie, we’re proud to offer experiences that truly support and uplift growing families.

    Welcome to REFORMER II — the intermediate-level class where we elevate your Pilates practice with precision and purpose. This is the progression — a step forward in your journey, where things get a little more challenging, and a lot more rewarding. Expect quicker transitions and more complex sequences that will keep you engaged from start to finish.

    The class where your muscles whisper “thank you” (and “please stop” at the same time).

  • Endurance/Stamina/Detox

    This dynamic, low-impact class is perfect for those seeking a cardio challenge without joint strain. CARDIO BOOST uses the Pilates Jumpboard, engaging you in plyometric movements with adjustable spring tension for a full-body workout that’s gentle on the body. Bonus: jumping on the Reformer isn’t just fun — it’s also great for boosting bone density. Get ready to elevate your heart rate, improve endurance, and enjoy a high-energy Pilates experience. Hello, endorphins!

    Designed as the perfect complement to your more intense workouts, REFORMER ALIGN supports active recovery by laying a strong foundation for your Pilates practice. You'll work to improve posture, refine alignment, and deepen body awareness through gentle movement and targeted stretching—leaving you feeling lengthened, relaxed, and ready to maintain your momentum without burnout.

    Incorporating a regular stretching routine not only enhances performance and reduces muscle fatigue, but also decreases the risk of injury and increases circulation for faster recovery.

    Set in a calming atmosphere with soft lighting and soothing music, Align invites you to move with intention. Guided by controlled exercises and mindful breathing, the Reformer becomes a tool to restore balance, promote alignment, and reconnect with your body. This is recovery with purpose—and your new favorite way to reset.
